Daniel's Story
"Why do I do this job? So that things are different for young people of course."
Daniel says,
"I want these kids to have what I didn't."
Without a job or any training, and having grown up in care, Daniel, now 19, started volunteering at the Dalgarno Community Centre two years ago.
The Dalgarno Neighbourhood Trust, committed to employing local people, saw Daniel's potential, quickly offering him training and support leading to a paid job.
Today, Daniel is tired but happy after working at the youth group. The children, aged 5-11, live all over the densely populated Dalgarno estates, amongst the most deprived in the UK. Many have little or no room to play indoors in over-crowded flats. Daniel's youth club organises sport, dance and music activities, keeping the children occupied after school and throughout the holidays.
