Lee's Story

Lee is in charge of tomatoes, and proudly waters the healthy-looking tubs every day. 16 year old Lee is severely disabled.

Today Lee is quick to smile and joins in happily with other children, but this wasn't always the case.

Lee arrived at the Full of Life after-school club unable to relate to other children, often lashing out at them, and having been out of school for more than a year.

Full of Life gave Lee the personal support, time and space to develop his own interests. With enough responsibility to feel included, Lee gradually began to respond to staff praise and interact with other children. He now has a stable group of friends.

"Everyone here has a role, we're a family of sorts' explains Director of Full of Life, Sue Redmond,
'We don't give up on anyone."
